The Discover NHL Winter Classic is an eagerly anticipated, annual tradition that celebrates hockey’s outdoor heritage while embracing innovation and fan engagement. Chicago is thrilled to have been selected to host the 2025 event at our iconic Wrigley Field. The first Winter Classic was held on New Year’s Day, 2008 with the Buffalo Sabres playing the Pittsburgh Penguins at the home of the NFL Buffalo Bills.
